Herdwatch Approved by Dept of Agriculture

It’s official, Herdwatch has been approved by the Dept of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, to offer Calf Birth Registration and Herd Profile Synchronisation from compatible Smartphones, Tablets and Laptops/PCs. This is a momentous occasion for all Dairy and Suckler Farmers for whom Calf Birth administration has been a sore point for years. This upcoming Spring calving season though, for the first time, you will be able to register your Calves electronically when and where you chose, no more paperwork by candle light or night time chores on the auld PC!

The Herd Profile Synchronisation feature also means you won’t have to manually enter your animals into Herdwatch, a couple of clicks and all animals are “auto-magically” brought in from the National Database. As you buy or sell animals, all you have to do is sync again to get your latest Herd Profile directly from the Department’s database.

Well done to the Herdwatch Development Team on this important achievement, it wasn’t easy, in fact it was very hard, but to paraphrase JFK (badly): “We choose to offer Calf Registration and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard!” (and more importantly to make Farmers’ lives easier)

We will update again as soon as possible, we are working very hard and hope to go live just before or just after Christmas, following a final Beta phase (more on this soon, if you are interested please register here)

Amazing response to Herdwatch Preview at Ploughing 2013

We are back from “The Ploughing”, where 228,000 visitors came over 3 days, and it feels like we met you all! We had an amazing response to the Herdwatch Preview, with literally thousands of farmers attending our live & interactive demos, and registering their interest in using Herdwatch when it is launched in a few weeks. A big thank you to all who came and gave us their support and feedback, we may be tired right now, but spirits are high and we feel a real boost from the reception we got in Ratheniska, Co. Laois.

To top it all off, Herdwatch was covered by many local and national newspapers recently, including the Farmers Journal, Farming Independent and Irish Examiner, but also by RTE One Television in its highlights of the Ploughing! You can watch it on our YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fsc6Ii-S7EI

So, watch this space for news, and follow us on Twitter and Facebook! We will update you over the next few days and weeks as we gear up to release Herdwatch “into the wild”!
